ABOUT THIS RACE
 

For 5 years, the Kentucky Association for Professional African American Women (KAPAAW) has been working to serve and empower black women in Kentucky. Our organization hosts a few events that positively impacts our communities at large. KAPAAW works with organizations in our community under the umbrella of our programs which include Girls Who Lead, Leading Ladies and Irene’s Dream.

Through our engagements, we host free workshops to serve black women in the community, provide a free resource program for black single mothers under the age of 25 and provide them with free baby items, support Girls Who Lead our youth mentoring program for girls in middle and high school, and Leading Ladies our mentoring program for black female college students.

KAPAAW supports our members and the community by providing free resources and receiving item donations for our programs. KAPAAW strives to meets the basic needs for black women, college students, and youth. We strive to help our community in different ways to address obstacles and barriers. 

We encourage you to wear your favorite be creative with your 5k attire! You may register as an individual runner/walker or with a group as a team. The members of your team must register individually.  Teams can consist of adult and child members. We will recognize individuals and teams that demonstrate creativity with their race attire!
